Hypnia Bien-Être Absolu Review: The Best Value for Money?

In short: The Hypnia Bien-Être Absolu scores 8.8/10 in our 2026 test. 4 layers of foam, 30 cm thick, 15-year warranty, from ~€399 (90×190) to ~€799 (180×200), 120-night trial. The thickest and best-warrantied mattress in our selection.

Hypnia isn't the best-known brand on the French market. No subway ads, no sponsored podcasts. Yet the Bien-Être Absolu is carving out a serious place for itself. And when you look at the specifications — 4 layers, 30 cm, 15-year warranty — you understand why.

We tested it for 4 weeks with three sleepers. It has its flaws, but its thickness-price-warranty ratio is hard to dispute.

Our Verdict

Best for: those who want a thick mattress without paying a premium price, couples, back and side sleepers. Avoid if: you want an ultra-famous brand, or need a mattress that's easy to move.

The 4 Layers of the Bien-Être Absolu

The Hypnia Bien-Être Absolu stands out with its 4-layer structure on 30 cm of thickness. Above the market average (20-25 cm):

  1. Breathable fabric cover (1 cm) — Soft stretch fabric to the touch, anti-dust mite treated. Removable and machine-washable. Soft feel from first contact.

  2. Memory foam (4 cm) — The comfort layer that follows your curves. This is where the mattress's cloud-like quality comes from. Reduces pressure points at shoulders, hips, and lower back.

  3. Transition foam (3 cm) — Buffer zone between softness and base firmness. Prevents the "hard floor" effect.

  4. High-density support foam (22 cm) — The heart of the mattress. 22 cm of high-density foam for solid support. This thickness is what enables the 15-year warranty.

Total thickness: 30 cm Firmness: medium (6/10), enveloping feel. Trial: 120 nights. Warranty: 15 years (the longest in our selection).

4 Weeks of Testing

Arrival

Massive box, substantial roll. Two people needed for unboxing. Decompression: 12 to 24 hours for full thickness.

First impression: it's thick. Really. 30 cm makes a difference compared to 20 cm competitors. You don't sink into the mattress — you're on it.

Comfort

Our 78 kg tester (back sleeper): excellent. Precise lumbar support, comfortable without being mushy.

Our 62 kg tester (side sleeper): very good contouring of shoulders and hips. The thickness allows progressive, controlled sinkage. Less morning stiffness.

Our 91 kg tester (side sleeper): the 22 cm base makes the difference. The mattress doesn't sag, support remains firm even with a heavier build.

Heat

Like all mattresses with a significant memory foam layer, heat retention is a factor. The breathable cover helps, but in summer, you feel the accumulation. Nothing abnormal for this type of mattress.

Motion Isolation

Excellent. The 30 cm of multi-layer foam effectively absorbs transfer. No disturbance felt when a partner rolls over.

The 15-Year Warranty

The argument that differentiates Hypnia. Emma and Tediber offer 10 years. Hypnia offers 15 years. Five extra years on a product you keep 8 to 12 years changes the equation.

What We Like

The 4 functional layers. No marketing filler. Each layer has a clear role.

The 30 cm of thickness. The difference in sensation compared to a 22 cm mattress is real. Presence and comfort.

The 15-year warranty. The longest in our selection. Hypnia stands behind its product quality.

The thickness-to-price ratio. At ~€590 in 160×200 for 30 cm and 4 layers, excellent. Mattresses of this thickness from premium brands run around €800-€1,000.

The 120-night trial. 4 months is more than the standard 100 nights.

What We Like Less

Brand recognition. Hypnia doesn't have the visibility of Emma or Tediber. Fewer customer reviews.

The weight. 30 cm of foam is heavy. Moving will be a challenge.

No firmness choice. Only one profile available.

Who Is It For?

  • Those who want a thick mattress — the "like in a hotel" sensation.
  • Couples — excellent motion isolation, thickness for two body types.
  • Heavier individuals — the 22 cm base provides solid support even above 100 kg.
  • Long-term thinkers — 15-year warranty.

Less suitable if: you want an ultra-famous brand, you move frequently, or you're looking for a very firm mattress.

FAQ

Is the mattress really 30 cm?

Yes. The 4 layers are functional. Compare with the 20-25 cm of competitors: the difference in sensation is real.

Is the 15-year warranty reliable?

Hypnia is a serious European brand. 15 years is 5 more than the norm. Covers manufacturing defects and excessive sagging.

Is the mattress too tall for my bed?

30 cm is a standard premium thickness. Check the total height (base + mattress) for comfortable seating. 50-60 cm total is ideal.

Is it suitable for people with back pain?

The 4 layers offer a good balance between support and comfort with 22 cm of firm base. Take advantage of the 120-night trial to test it.

Can you return the mattress?

Yes, 120-night trial with free pickup and full refund. Longer than the standard 100 nights.
